What would happen if a NBA team perished in a plane crash?

What would happen if in the offseason the Laker’s team plane crashed, resulting in the death of 12 players, Coaching staff, etc.
Would the NBA cancel the following NBA season, or will the Lakers forced to build from scratch in a short amount of time.
